Smart Home Project: Highbury Barn

Nestled in the idilic Surrey Hills this 300 year old Barn conversion was an ideal escape to the country for a couple tired of London Living.
The property consists of 3 barns around a semi enclosed courtyard and was first converted back in 2010.
The new owners first contacted Surrey Smarthome to solve a problem with the internet distribution around the 3 buildings, Network cabling and network switches were installed giving good wifi throughout.
We then addressed the internal lighting, the old large up-lighters detracted from the barns stunning architecture, so these were removed and dimmable warm white led lighting strips were installed hidden away in the eaves which softly up-lit the ceiling.
The tired looking bathroom wall sconse’s were removed and instead soft lighting achieved with a COB led strip fitted behind their stunning mirror.
Due to the barns listed status we were not able to install any wall mounted outdoor lighting so instead we hid 20 meters of led strip behind the high barns gutter which elegantly illuminates the barns external facade at night.
The external and internal lighting is now controlled by a Loxone Smarthome system using Presence Sensors and Loxone’s award winning Touch Pure switches.
